MICHELLE SYLVIA...
When You Wish Upon A Star...
Once upon a time there was a Stay at Home Mom who
Loved her Family so.  She woke each morning to serve
them and meet their needs.  One day she started
thinking about the Woman she once was before
Motherhood.  Energetic, Independent and Confident.
She began to wish for something all her own that
would satisfy her need to create as well as provide
extra income for her family.  Thus, The Blackberry
Briar was born.  My name is Michelle Sylvia, Owner,
Creator and Designer at The Blackberry Briar.  I
create many forms of Art along with Hand Poured
Soy Candles that are Hand Poured from my heart to
your home.  I use the highest quality oils and wax in
my candles assuring that you receive a quality
product each and everytime you purchase from me.  I
also make coordinating Room Sprays which are a
wonderful addition to your home as air fresheners for
the Bathroom, Kitchen, Bedroom and just about
anywhere.  Thank You for taking the time to sample
my products.

MARIE MORGAN

First many ask how I came up with the name primitives by
"Olde" lady Morgan?  Well it really started as a joke from my
girl's trip.  I am the youngest in the group and they started
calling me Olde lady Morgan.  It stuck!  I changed my
business name from Marie's country collectibles to this in
2006.  I have always had an art background, but I started
painting folk art in 1989 after my son was born just for a
reason to get out of the house.  In 1994 I started my
business and was part of a co-op in Geneva for awhile, then
in a small space in state street market in Elgin until 2001.
I have continued to craft and do a few shows.
My tastes over the last few years have gone more primitive
and I love to sew then paint and make things look like they
came from yester-year!  My neighbors think I am nuts when
they see me taking something that looks fine the way it is
and beat it and dye it to look olde!  Older the better!
I am lucky to have met Sandy 2 years ago.  I walked in one
day and just asked if she would like to see what I do and I
am lucky to have a creative outlet for my prim pieces!
My favorite time is fall and also my favorite thing to craft
along with snowmen!  I keep many of my favorites out all
year!
I am 42 years young, married for 21 years, have 2 boys Alex
20, Steven 18.  Both are in college.
We live in Bartlett with our 2-year-old black lab Knuckles.
